‘Marz-o-rin’ :)

Marz-o-rin looks like one of those traditional places that you would imagine when you think of a time when your grandparents were young. It is a fairly big restaurant with a verandah setting and 2 rooms on the inside. Marz-o-Rin is in MG Road, Pune and while the ambiance is not all that great, it is still a good place to hang out with friends. It is a self service restaurant.

The menu provides a wide variety to order from. They even have health drinks for the health conscious. We ordered a chocolate milkshake, a pineapple milkshake, and a cold coffee. The milkshakes were thick, but the pineapple milkshake used processed syrup and not fresh pineapples. Would not recommend that order.

We were shopping at MG Road that day, and had just dropped by for a quick meal, and so did not order much to eat. We ordered a macaroni and cheese, and were pretty satisfied with it.

All in all it was a good experience, and a place you could visit once. The price of everything was reasonable, and we left with our wallets none the lighter, and with our stomachs and minds at peace.

CAFE TOONS !!!

Did you ever crave to live in a comic? Or be part of cartoon? Visit Cafe Toons, located at Wonderland Basement at MG Road, Pune.

IMG_20140923_135401311

The ambience is amazing to start with. The walls are covered in cartoons and comic strips, that brings up a lot of childhood memories. There is more for the rocker in you! A comic that mentions the A-Z of rock!

There! Tucked away yet smoothly visible, is the bar. This just makes you want to order booze, even if you haven’t ever tried it in your life! The tasteful ambience just makes you want to keep coming back for more. There is a juke box right next to the bar, and the music there is sinfully amazing. There are 5-6 TVs for the avid TV watchers, so that they do not get “bored” while hanging with their friends.

We ordered to our mouth and heart’s content, we ordered Fish and Chips, which reminded us of a perfect English version of the dish.

The cheese and pineapple that we ordered had our mouths watering. First time we have tried the same! Who knew Cheese and Pineapple would taste so GOOD together!

Veg Supreme Pizza, not being huge vegetarian fans, we still went ahead and ordered a veg Pizza. It was cheesy with each slice gooey and dripping with cheese. Every bite sent us closer to turning vegetarian!

We recommend this place! Especially to students. Not because the working crowd is NOT fun, but because the place is easy on the wallet, and just reminds us of days, “back when we were kids.”

Happy Hoppipola :D

Some words are so unique, they instantaneously strike a chord with you! One of such word was HOPPIPOLA.

As more and more people were talking about this newly opened place in Aundh, we decided, it’s time!

The seating is almost all open-air and some-parts covered.

The décor is fun, bright and colourful. You can see many posing for pics and selfies at different corners.

The menu is kinda limited. There are no “main-course” dishes as such. The pizza which would qualify for a meal for 3 grown-ups would leave them asking for more!

The quantity of food is small. You would want to eat more at that price.

IMG_7760We are not sure if Hoppipola wants people to come and keep ordering the same old thing in the menu and take some pics and go back. Well, for first timers it would work, not sure if this strategy would be applicable to get repeat customers.

Overall, this place is a 6/10 on food and 10/10 on enjoying/taking selfies.

#Hidden Place

With the advent of monsoons, it’s the perfect moment to take some time off and enjoy a quality meal with your friends.

With the same thinking, we went to Hidden Place.

On the offset, we were highly impressed by the architecture and décor. It was young, fun, colourful and super-awesome!

Not just the interesting menu, we were surprised by the creativity in the cutlery.

IMG_7725IMG_7731 IMG_7752 IMG_7744

Note the beautiful use of extinct cassettes. Isn’t is brilliant?

Well, then we ordered…and my my! so many options!! We ordered a lot of starters, salads, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian.

After a round of few drinks and many rounds of French fries, we decided to head back to college!

Spoiler Alert:

Amazing Music. Amazing Ambiance. Only age-group of 20-30 😉

Might be a li’l pricey on your pockets, if you are a food lover.
