Elevate Your Senses at Elevate Lounge!

As you enter the premise, the sudden urge to click selfies and groupies would rise! The floor would light up with every step you take and mirrors around you would entice you to keep turning back…

With songs blasting from the speakers, our grand entry was met with just perfect ambience for a fun evening with friends!

Located in Pimple Saudagar, PUNE, Elevate is what any lounge would offer; good music, dim lights, special alcohol offers but with an added benefit. 9.4 kms from SIC, it takes about 20 minutes to reach through an auto.

The seating arrangement is well placed to accommodate different sizes of groups, proving that the space is well utilised. Every table that is placed along the boundary of the lounge is accompanied with beautiful and intricate designs on the wall that symbolises a grandeur and chic personality. Also, the combination of purple gold and red painted all over the lounge gives a very royal and contemporary feel to the guests.

Good food and great alcohol offer makes Elevate a lounge that I would like to visit more than just once. Good food because, it’s not very usual for a lounge to serve such decent tasting dal makhani and paneer makhanwali. Apart from the usual sandwiches, soups and non-veg as well as veg starters, combo meals consisting of Indian bread, Dal Makhani, Raita and Salad plus your choice of curry is a rare sight in a lounge. Then again, we are talking about Elevate here!

Coming to great alcohol offer, Elevate offers one cocktail and subsequently free vodka shots. Hold your horses! There are the dreaded ‘Terms and Conditions Apply’ to this offer as well. The free flowing vodka shots should be accepted by the same guest who takes the cocktail. Adding to this, the free flowing vodka will be flavoured shots. Nevertheless, even the free flowing flavoured vodka shots offer is alluring enough.

A kind warning to the prospective visitors – have a detailed conversation with the servers, asking deep questions about the offers. They may forget to inform you that the vodka is flavoured!

The USP of Elevate is undoubtedly its free flowing vodka offer.

The downside of the lounge is its servers’ articulation skills w.r.t. the offers.

Our ratings:

Food: Average – 7/10, Alcohol: Good – 8/10, Price: Great! – 8.5/10

Horn Ok Please :D

Recommendations – they are so important to everyone. Be it for a student applying for M.S. or a travel blogger about a new place to eat.

Hence, we landed at HORN OK PLEASE in Pune.

Located at FC Road, this place generally requires 10-40 mins of waiting period. The ambiance is of a local dhaba set in Punjab.

IMG_20140706_214802126

Once you enter, the service is super quick. For the people waiting, they have made a waiting area with typical “khaats” found in villages.

The menu is reativley written

Marrakesh #ArabicFood

Arabic Food.

It has its own aura about it. The smell, the taste, the after-effects. It is one of its kind.

And we specially miss it cuz we miss Gulf and our NRI friends who come bearing Zatar bread, mamoul and dates after vacation.

And so, we were overly joyed to see Marrakesh outlet opened in Hinjewadi, Pune.

IMG_20140703_215438685-EFFECTS IMG_20140703_215413440Located on the city highway which connects an outskirts Hinjewadi to main city, this place gets lot of eyeballs for sure.

The seating is comfortable, fine-dining type, unlike other Marrakesh, where it is open air seating.

The music is subtle Arabic.

The staff courteous.

IMG_20140703_213438289 IMG_20140703_213429576

But, few things on the menu are not available and it is overpriced for its food quantity. Yes, if it was a dhaba sort, I would accept the food quality too. But for fine dining Arabic restaurant, this was a slight disappointment.

IMG_20140703_213420387 IMG_20140703_213413670The biggest disappointment was the traditional trademark vegetable pickle…!! It was bland, a total unexpected thing.

The zatar bread was basically tandoori roti with zatar sprinkled over it. An okay-okay deal.

Overall, go to Marrakesh Hinjewadi when you have a sudden urge to eat Arabic food but lazy to drive down to city.

A class apart- AlFredo’s | Mumbai

Mumbai.

A place where tourists find “food” on their to-do-lists. Mainly because the city offers such variety and at a huge band of prices.

One of such extremely classy place is Alfredo’s. You can visit with your family and friends, or with a date. this is on a pricey end, but absolutely worth it.

Take a look:

IMG_7955Soft lights, artictic ambience, courteous staff, fast service.

The only lacking thing here was- small food portions. When you consider the price-to-quantity ratio, it is very large!

But, we were there to splurge, and we did.

IMG_7958 IMG_7959 IMG_7960 IMG_7974

Salads, pasta, platter, veg-non veg…we ordered everything possible, along with drinks.

IMG_7975

The cost for 2 here came upto 2K. Something not everyone can afford to pay, hence we called this a niche and class apart restaurant.

A good place to enjoy a calm, cozy, classy dinner with someone!

!~ShOlay~!

Don’t you sometimes have the urge to just eat that ONE specific thing? That sudden craving of just an item you remember from a place? When you know what you’re going to order without looking at the menu?

Well, it happens to us for sure. And fortunately many times, because that’s what pushes us to try same or similar things at new places.

Just like that one afternoon we decided to have butter naan and daal makhni. Yes, a typical north Indian order, most commonly repeated a million times in thousands of restaurants, dhabas and eateries all over India.

Then we stumbed upon the idea of visiting Sholay! As they say, every day is a story. And that day indeed was one.

We ordered 3 side dishes – none which were available (russian salad, mexican salad, pineapple raita) – which disappointed us. But then, it was there loss. We had gone there to have our staple punjabi food – daal makhni and butten naan 😉

DSC_0253 DSC_0254 DSC_0256 DSC_0255

They had an extensive menu but no guarantee if an item will be available on a particular day. Maybe you can try your luck experimenting, but we believe commonly ordered items will be there at all times. Maybe pineapple raita is an ‘exquisite’ item according to their chef.

Regardless, the non-veg dishes are finger licking good. Take my word because I witnessed some people (a group of 4 gents) actually licking their fingers. Until the waiter saw this and fetched bowls for them to cleanse their hands.

DSC_0259DSC_0260

We liked the decor, considering it is a very small place by area..they have done a brilliant job in fitting around 10 tables. There will be waiting on few days, specially weekend -> the food is genuinely good. But otherwise it is good place to hang out if you don’t mind eavesdropping.

We leave you with their contact number – it is worth a try! We give it a thumbs up!! 🙂

Reliance Mart # Food Court

Christmas and New Year gives us a great opportunity to avail great shopping offers on all major brands, and Pune being a city with youngsters has many places to splurge into shopping (read: window shopping).

We strolled around in Reliance Mart for hours and finally sat down to eat in their food court. DSC_0315Not that we went with high expectation, but then we weren’t THAT disappointed either. I think that is the upside of not keeping high hopes. 😀

The place is colorful to the point it reflects happiness even with very few people seated and actually eating. Kids were playing at one corner, couples had occupied some seats, some newly weds had come for an outing and many families were sighted just loitering around (our guess- window shopping). 😉

DSC_0316

Many options for Indian, Chinese, Italian food lovers as well as fruitareans (yes, that’s a word autocorrect). The only downside is it is pricey for no good reason. Quantity served isn’t that great – a pasta cannot be shared and eaten by two.

DSC_0318 DSC_0319 DSC_0320 DSC_0317We did not eat much, but what we heard in whispers was the place and food is kaam-chalau. Barely. We say.

In our opinion, if you’re in Aundh, Pune there is are many other options to explore – DO NOT WASTE MONEY for eating here. We reviewed other places in Aundh and will be updating them soon.

Till then, keep smiling and munch away to glory 😀

HRC : Hard Rock Cafe

HRC : Hard Rock Cafe.

One of many in the country, but unique in its own. Surrounded by instruments and clothes of some very famous people, we could not help but be awed by the entire arena. The aesthetic value of this two-floored place is one of the best in town. Take our word.

IMG_1807 IMG_1808

We ordered a Mexican platter, HRC specialty burger and garlic bread. With of course, some drinks.

IMG_1809 IMG_1810 IMG_1813

The food was amazing, needless to say. Service was impeccable. The best was when all the waiters got on a hedge and started dancing on some song they all seem to have rehearsed to.

IMG_1814

The bill left us wondering how much we drank (even though it was happy hours 5 pm to 8 pm) 😉 The location is in the posh are of Pune – Koregaon Park. Easy to find using Google Maps. It has many events lined up every month. With a nominal entry and cover fee, you can enjoy the night, very well.

Talk About a.k.a. Biz Tamanna

Located in the heart of Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park, Talk About a.k.a. Biz Tamanna is a delight to visit. We went there recently and were surprised, in a good way. 🙂

IMG_1773

Its roof top ambiance is just splendid and the rates on the menu don’t leave a dent in your pockets.

IMG_1776 IMG_1777

We ordered 3 starters with some drinks. The quantity of food was good and pretty filling. Time for service was low and all the waiters were on their feet.

IMG_1779 IMG_1780 IMG_1781

Drinks were delicious and were served in larger quantities than we saw in other places.

IMG_1782

Overall, we loved our experience!!

“Rolla Costa”

Rolla Costa is located amidst the renowned Subway, Peter’s Pan, Hyderabadi Biryani and Chaitanya’s Parathas on the famous F.C.Road, Pune.

IMG_1660

IMG_1661 IMG_1659

This place has actually won a user’s choice award by Zomato. Isn’t that great?

IMG_1652

We were enthralled by the menu. They had such a variety of pastas, we made a tough call. Actually, we just chose the ones with known contents and fancy name 😉

IMG_1643 IMG_1645

When the first pasta came, we were happy. The taste was good, the texture was amazing and the price was just apt.

IMG_1654

But when the second one came, we were kinda surprised because it was sort of mediocre in taste. Well, this maybe for the reason that we had two pastas back to back, or maybe cuz they tasted similar. Well, not similar, kinda like just-another-pasta.

IMG_1656

So, we ordered drinks. A lime juice and cold coffee. An again, the satisfaction level went down a bit.

IMG_1658

What we feel is, the place is good to hang-out, you can order dis-similar items, taste a bit of each and just don’t judge much. Prices will not hurt your pocket and you’ll leave with a full stomach. 😀

IMG_1649 IMG_1650

We liked that you can see what was being prepared, it is all fresh, made right in front of your eyes. The service is fast and you won’t have to wait much for hogging.

Munch along people!! Let us know your reviews.
